ABOUT THE IMAGINE SALEM VISIONING PROJECT

‘Imagine Salem’ will help us shape the important aspects of our community that are within our control and help us set a collective course forward…with a deadline to achieve what we value.”
— Mayor Kim Driscoll

Imagine Salem is a citywide conversation to identify how Salem should be in 2026—that’s the year we’ll be celebrating our 400th! We are building from recent planning work and want your help to develop a set of shared values and a shared vision. The vision will serve as a guide for future decisions. The dialogue will be framed around housing, jobs and transportation, with themes of equity and inclusiveness woven throughout the topics.

IMAGINE SALEM UPDATE

THANK YOU to everyone that has joined in the Imagine Salem conversation. We would like to provide a special thanks to the community volunteers that helped guide the process. We have made great progress over the last few months thanks to your efforts. We’ve had over 1,100 survey responses and input from dozens of coffee conversations, neighborhood meetings, and other gatherings!

We are now going to put our heads down and roll up our sleeves to review the feedback that you provided us. That input will be used to develop a set of shared values and a vision for the next ten years which will be provided in a report.

We will be back early in the summer with a draft of the report for you to comment on- stay tuned!
